Summary
I bought a Digital Concepts 952AF/NIK flash. It was said to have a better rating than the SB600 flash. NOT TRUE--NOT EVEN CLOSE! The flash was defective to boot. I called SAKAR and they told me to return it to SAKAR INTERNATIONAL at 195 Carter Drive Edison, New Jersey 08817
I did. It was sent UPS on August 10,2007 and wasn't delivered until August 20, 2007 (what the hangup was I don't know) I called today (August 22, 2007) to see if they received it. The UPS tracking indicated it was delivered on the 20th. He took all my information and then checked their records and said they had received it. I asked him (Andrew-at least, that is the name he used)when they would ship me a new one. He said it would not be shipped for three weeks. I asked him "why so long"? He said "It is standard"! I said it takes you that long to get around to replacing a DEFECTIVE product. He said "yes, it is standard procedure". I said "Why"? He said "they had a few other replacements to handle first". I said "a few and it takes you three weeks, you must have a few thousand to replace". Dead silence then Andrew said "It is procedure". I said this is BS. You must not care about customer satisfaction. I said "can't you overnight it"? He said "we have no overnight mail". I said "You have very poor customer service and this is BS!
This company does not care about customer satisfaction and it does not seem to bother them that they have so many products to replace that it takes three weeks to handle defective products. Anyway, I would avoid any Digital Concept Products as they don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. This particular product (Digital Concepts 952AF/NIK) is being sold by retailers anywhere from $109 to $225 or more. It is a piece of junk and if anything goes wrong, unless the retailer who you bought it from is willing to refund your money or give you a new flash don't buy it. Well, even if they were willing to back the flash, I wouldn't buy it anyway just because of SAKAR INTERNATIONALS/DIGITALCONCEPTS ATTITUDE AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Strengths
This product has no strengths. It is very poorly constructed and came defective. The customer service provided by SAKAR INTERNATIONAL is very poor. They won't even pay for shipping the defective product back much less in a timely fashion. Three weeks is there standard return policy
Weaknesses
Poorly Constructed. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT SEEM TO CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Similar Products Used
Vivitar, Canon, Nikon
