Summary
Lots of verbiage about lens comparisons, most of which neglect the primary issue - does the lens deliver, consistently, a clear, sharp image. This lens certainly does - through Europe, Asia, USA, S.A. A marvel of optical engineering. I compared this lens - at 135 - on tripod, to a Leitz 135 Elmarit and found sharpness to be the same (at 10X magnification).Perhaps at 20X+ there would be a difference but do you care?

Moreover, my back doesn't hurt after a 5+mile trek. There's too much hype about lens differences, most of which are insignificant. Paraphrasing Edward Weston, never mind the lens; set it at f8 and BE THERE.

Strengths
Sharp, light, responsive.

Weaknesses
Manual focus - need to adjust eye for the split image
