Summary
When I first brought this product I was disappointed that it only stored 6 AA batteries. My disappointment soon disappeared when I tried it for the first time. The battery pack actually works WITH the other 4 batteries in the Speedlite 550 flash. So all up 10 x A4 batteries are charging the flash at any one time. Flash charge speeds have dropped from 3-4 seconds per charge to under 1 second (and most times the red charge light doesn’t even go out at all) . I shoot modeling photography and when your in the swing of things, waiting for the flash is the last thing you want to do!

I thoroughly recommend this unit (I even brought a second one as I just couldn’t not have one now).

The only down side to the unit is there is no manual. I know its pretty straight forward but I didn’t know if I should connect it with batteries in the flash or not and thus "had a go" and luckily it was ok (and didn't explode all over the place!)

Cheers

Summary
This unit is a lifesaver. I just shot 5 rolls at a wedding with my 540EZ on max output and I didn't have to change the batteries at all. Typically, I would notice a slow down on the flash with 4 AAs after 3 rolls. This time, no slow down on recycling time. I just kept on shooting with a total of 10 AAs powering my flash.

Strengths
Not heavy at all.
Cool carrying case.
Attachable to camera's tripod mount.
Does the job.

Weaknesses
Cost too much.
