Summary
Good scanner let down by poor manual.

Strengths
Good quality scans when you manage to work out the optimum settings. ICE is a nice feature at this price point.

Weaknesses
Poor manual, not the most friendly interface.

Summary
Two points:
sounds like a great product rivallings the well known film scanners. Unfortunately it does'nt work. 3PCs, 4 cables later the scanner would not communicate. It worked for 4+ hours and then quit. The only sign of life were the periodic 7 flashes from the green LED on the front.
The Tech service number (1-800-909-9996) for Pacific Images was disconnected (?!).

Point 2: Ecost.com does not accept returns. Be careful!

Strengths
Great specifications

Weaknesses
Bad feed for film strip (same as Nikon & Minolta). Scanner died.
