Summary
Nikon pronea 6i a fantastic camera that I love to use even now. It's still easy to find IX240 film cartridges in Kodak stores or online www.officedepot.com a Kodak® 200 Speed Advantix Film, Pack Of 3. We can also find black & white films ISO 200 and 400 as in color films.
I have two lenses IX Nikkor 24-70mm 1:3.5-5.6 35mm 1.2ft, the original, and an AF Nikkor 75-240mm 1:4.5-5.6D and several filters. It's still amazing the quality photos I can take with this camera.
Strengths
Very easy to use after a quick look of the manual functions.
Easy film change between color and b&w films (mid-roll rewind possible by pressing two film rewind buttons), a nice function if you want experiencing diferent aproaches of the same subject at the moment.
A very complete Vari-program, making excelent sillouette photos, and sepia photos with color films.
Exposure metering: Matrix, Centre-Weighted and Spot;
Focus Tracking with Lock-On.
The first camera based on APS system.
Weaknesses
A little bit heavy, besides the fact that this kind of cameras have been descontinued.

Summary
I bought the camera and 70-180 zoom lens, and have found the camera to take excellent pictures. It is very light, compact, and the pictures are very sharp. I am a bit disappointed that it is difficult to get quality developing for b/w films locally, and have reverted to my 35mm for that. Also, this camera only seems to accept Fuji film, and when I try to load Kodak or another type of film, it gives me a loading error and marks the film as fully exposed. Needless to say, this is quite frustrating when you're on vacation and can only find Kodak film.
Strengths
Lightweight, clear, sharp pictures, easy to use.
Weaknesses
non-accpetance of non-fuji film.

Summary
This is one of Nikon's finest instruments made in the last five years. The feel of it in one's hand is solid. The dials are clear but I wish the LCD was back lit. I got an N65 recently, and it feels like a toy compared to the Pronea. You can find this camera on Ebay, but APS film stock is too limited. I do not recommend you buy it for that reason. Still, it's a keeper for me because I don't need to sell it for peanuts. And I use it primarily for snapshots at social events.
Strengths
solid construction
features
flash
Weaknesses
APS film selection.
No DOF preview.
LCD panel hard to read in dim light

Summary
Nikon "strikes", again, with this camera, the APS version of the N70. This is a powerful machine. With all the features that a beginner, to a seasoned pro, would love. Then there is that mid-roll changeover, which is a great benefit for those, different ISO changes. The power of a Nikon 35mm SLR, in the APS format. This is the top APS camera, on the market, and most of all it's a Nikon...dude!!!! If you can find one get it. The film development is a bit more costly, than 35mm, but for all the power, and quality results, the cost is worth it. The APS format was looked at with negative eyes, but because of it's versatility, even with it's lack of ISO speeds;, this format is cathching the eye of many consumers, today. Even with the Pronea 6i, being discontinued, it lives on with the introduction of the Pronea S. Nikon has taken a big step with this machine. And no matter the negative reviews, they have created a "monster" with this camera, and the stepping out into this format. I have shot four wedding with my Pronea 6i, and the quality was "superb". One of the weddings was shot in almost complete darkness, and with the on board speedlight. This machine performed. My clients were overwhelmed with the results, and so was I. There is so much to play with, and if you area a techno nut, then this baby is for you. Get one if you can, and enjoy!!!! Mine came with the Nikkor 24-70 lens, and I added a Nikkor 70-210, and I have more APS for the "buck". This is APS supremacy, but it's a Nikon....dude!!!!
Strengths
it's a Nikon...dude!!! An APS/SLR, with all the features of the N70. Its topps, and the feel is so superb. Just a great machine.
Weaknesses
Hard to find, but worth the look. The only weakness i see is the viewfinder, placement...a minor thing, and the batteries...CR123, so costly...But like I said, It's a Nikon....dude...and its a great camera still.
