Summary
This camera is junk. I will never buy anything from SiPix again. Initially cost a little less than compeating camera's, but should have cost a LOT less than compeating products. If you are looking at a SiPix, I would recomend that you save your money and buy a better camera.

Strengths
Cost a little less than compeating products.

Weaknesses
Developed a "cross hatch" shading problem in all pictures after a few months of use. Fewer features than compeating camera's.

Summary
I bought the camara in Germany: 2.1 MPix, at that price? why look any longer.
it worked real nice, BUT after the 3rd battery change, the compatment flap would not close!?? cheap plastic! Warranty: Foto Porst went bankrupt! I hope it wasn´t for Sipix!?? So what now? use sticky tape to close the lid? or buy Sony! they never let me down!!!

Strengths
cheap, easy to use, even display pics on TV!

Weaknesses
a lousy cheap closure mechanism on the battery compartment.--so what now?

Customer Service
store went out of business!! now what?

Summary
A middle of the line camera that does what it sets out to do and even offer some extras. The price seem to offset most of the negative attributes by the manufacturer.

Strengths
Great Price. Ability to run slide shows, connect to TV. Macro feature.

Weaknesses
No acessories like carrying card. The standard should be 16mb compactcard included.

Summary
Poor optics results in blurring, especially around the edges. Blurring is not uniform - my SIPIX SC-2100 blurs heavily on the right side of a picture, but focuses sharply on the left. SIPX tech support claims it's built this way but this is not documented anyplace. This camera is best marketed as a "first real camera" for children.

SIPIX is a fairly new spinoff of its parent company. The way the Customer Service handled my complaints ( see below) is strongly reminescent of other companies that were struggling financially, and eventually went out of business. Under these circumstances it would be better not buy any SIPIX products until they can demonstrate that they are going to be around for the forseeable future.

Strengths
Cheaper than similar digital cameras. Manual is simple and easy to understand

Weaknesses
Blurriness makes it unsuitable for outdoor shots. No carrying case or strap, no lens cap. The least objectionable pictures are hi-res mode, but the memory card that comes with the camera only holds 3 hi-res images, so you'll need to buy a new memory card ($50 and up)

Customer Service
My contacts with customer service were unsettling. They brushed off my complaints about poor image quality, basically tellling me it was the result of using a "center-wieghted" LCD, and nothing could

Summary
For the price, a good deal. Lousy optics.
If you're used to Nikon film photography,
you'll be very unhappy. Good camera for snapshooters

Strengths
Inexpensive, and seems to have most features, save a decent lens. Batteries don't cost a fortune.

Weaknesses
Poor optical quality. My Canon A5 does
better pictures, at 1.2 megs.
