    Summary
This camera is an improvement over the last 2.0 megapixel canon I owned. Comes with a higher memory card, however I had bought a bigger one so I was just able to use it in the new camera. The improvement on the digital zoom is wonderful.

    Strengths
Digital zoom, and movies with sound

    Summary
I am extremelly pleased with this digital camera. After having researched nearly 50 cameras that were disirable to me, this one stood out. I purchased it from a Canon Dealer at a local show, and they were more than eager to help me.

My main concern was whether to get the A60 or bump up to the A70, for the extra optical zoom and MP's. After talking to them, I realised for my purposes I did not need anything larger than a 2MP.

The A60's sleek build and the ability for it to be held very easily was a major thing. I am VERY impressed with this camera, and hope to purchase possibly another Canon when the 5MP come to the price 2MP are.

    Strengths
I love everything about this camera besides it's average lagging shutter speed...to be expected.

    Weaknesses
    Lagging shutter speed
    LCD is easily scratched
Dust/the like easily wedged behind LCD

    Customer Service
I just recieved mine back from warrenty from Canon. Something in the camera went shot and was affecting the LCD screen. Image was fuzzy and runny. Repair was said to take 3 weeks, and I got it back 3 weeks to the day. They also fixed the slightly ascue barrel and cleaned even inside the LCD screen. A+ Service!

    Summary
After owning several high end 35mm SLR cameras, I decided to venture into the digital world. I really would haved liked to have bought a digital SLR, but the budget did not allow. Enter the Canon Powershot A60.

With awesome features such as, exposure compensation, control of aperature and shutter speeds, program modes for easy point and shoot and movie mode, the Canon Powershot A60 was the clear choice.

This camera takes great pictures. At only 2.0mp, images are decently sharp (although not comparable to a 5mp camera) and true to colour. I have not printed any photos yet, so I cannot comment on that.

Overall this camera is a great entry level digital with options and flexability so even the most advanced photographer will have fun with it.

    Strengths
    -Aperature and shutter priority modes
    -Full manual mode
    -Exposure compensation
    -Flash output adjustability
    -Macro mode
    -Extra lens attachments available
-Excellent auto focus (even in low light)
    -Adjustable film ISO speeds

    Weaknesses
Battery consumption. Invest in the good rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and charger.

    Customer Service
Have not had to use support from Canon yet.

    Summary
Overall I am happy with lot of features of Canon Powershot A60. I own Olympus D600L digital camera which is automatic and does not allow me to be creative. Moreover that was bulky. As I started photography starting from the days of B&W 120 film, I enjoy the bundles of features provided by A60. As I am a computer savvy having likings for software like Photoshop, I can convert all my ideas, imaginations etc easily, which were difficult with film photography.

2 Megapixel was initially thought as inadequate, but as an amateur, I rarely blow up pixtures larger than 8x10 and hence found ok.

    Strengths
    - overall compact size
    - remarkable battery life with NiMH
    - lot of features to make one creative
    - good hand grip which enables one to use it with one hand
    - magnification of the picture taken to 10x which will help in ensuring the picture is ok or not
    - ability to add audio memo to pictures which will help in better identification if one takes hundreds of pictures
    - usage of commonly available compact flash which is not expensive

    Weaknesses
    - LCD is scratch prone
    - LCD not high resolution
    - image is not sharp enough - to be sharpened with software like Photoshop
    - build quality not very high - MENU button is already not having tactile feel though still works
    - no dioptre adjustment in viewfinder
    - no time lapse photography facility (not a weakness but desirable feature)
    - closeup pictures get overexposed with flash even though it is supposed to take care in AUTO mode
